Hello everyone! A few weeks ago I did a 1950's pin up inspired shoot featuring the gorgeous clothes from Dolly Oddball and my beautiful friend Sara kindly modelled for me. I've always been interested in pin up photography and clothes, all the women from the 1950's were absolutely gorgeous and I simple adore that style.
Located in Gorleston, Norfolk, Dolly Oddball opened in June 2012 and sell a wide range of 1940/50's inspired clothes from brands such as Collectif, Glamour Bunny, Hell Bunny etc. They also sell a range of shoes from Iron Fist, Bordello and Pin up range. Not only do they stock clothes but the lovely ladies at the shop sell a range of handmade handbags, rockabilly jewellery, hair flowers and bandanna's.
I've wanted to do a pin up style shoot for a long time, but I've only ever conducted generic fashion shoots and pin up photography was a whole new world to me. I was very lucky to use some of the gorgeous dresses for the pictures and Sara enjoyed playing dress up! There were a few hiccups throughout the shoot, my wireless adapter for the lights kept cutting out so I had to resort to using natural light for a few of the photographs, Sara was such a trooper she remained patient and kept smiling and posing away throughout the whole thing.
While in the store I absolutely fell in love with all the gorgeous dresses they had stocked. My favourite dress was the gorgeous beige birds halter neck dress, the pattern features a lovely birds and leaves print and the colours are incredibly vibrant. The dress also features a flattering sweetheart neckline with 3 covered buttons. In my opinion this is the perfect dress to wear in the Spring through to the Summer, I can imagine wearing this dress at a picnic near a river with lots of different cakes and sandwiches!
Their website is currently down so I'm unable to get the info for this dress, as soon as it's back up I'll update the post.
On Friday I'll be attending London Fashion Weekend where I'll be working with Canon to photograph the runways so expect a post sometime next week!
